Diploma Programs
Tuition fees for the Centre for Distance Education include the use of a multimedia, Internet-ready computer and software, an Internet account, and all learning materials you need to complete your program.

The Centre for Distance Education reserves the right to make changes to the fees and regulations. However, any changes effect only new applicants. Once you enroll, you are guaranteed the fee structure offered at the time of enrollment.

Tuition Payment

You may pay your tuition fees by cash, cheque, money order or credit card. Please make cheques and money orders payable to the Centre for Distance Education. Post-dated cheques are not accepted for tuition payment.

The Latest Learning Materials

All the learning materials you receive, including textbooks, workbooks, interactive multimedia CDs, study guides, software and computers, are the most up to date available. To stay absolutely current, the Centre for Distance Education is always looking for better hardware and software to make your learning experience even more rewarding and enjoyable. When we find better materials, we will provide you with them. That’s why the specifications listed in this kit are subject to change without notice. When we make changes, they are made to upgrade your material – only better materials will be added.

In fact, any change in all your material must be approved by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.

Tuition

Tuition Costs for the programs are made up of two segments.

  1. Program Tuition Costs: This includes all materials, on-line Internet services, and the use of the computer and software for the length of the course.
  2. Computer Deposit/Buy Out: All students must pay a $500 deposit plus HST on your computer with your registration. For diploma students, this cost is already included in your tuition. At the end of your program you can choose from two options. First, you may return your computer and software. When we receive them in reasonably good condition, your deposit will be refunded to you. Or, secondly – and this is a very popular option – you may waive your refund and keep the computer and software. That’s right, keep it for good!
